OUTSTANDING NON-SLIP PROPERTIES

Carpets ensure that no one suddenly loses their balance. In a study on walking safety on textile flooring, Vienna-based testing institute OETI found that carpets offered better non-slip properties than other flooring types. Therefore, carpets satisfy the requirements of the DS technical class (dynamic coefficient of friction >0.30 as measured in accordance with EN 13893), which is necessary for CE certification in accordance with EN 14041. Textile flooring also boasts an excellent falls-prevention profile, with each step a safe occurrence. In the unlikely event that someone does lose their balance, however, thick carpets reduce the force of a fall by at least 7%*, thus preventing injury.
